Raising the bar in terms of Community Involvement.

This page is for the convenience of those who, for whatever reason, can't view the Intro Video on the Legacy Childrens Art Mural page of this web site.

Please watch the video if at all possible. It does a far better job at describing the Look What I Drawed!™ Legacy Mural story, than this transcript could ever do.

You may have noticed public art like this piece here, and murals popping up all over your community. And that is for a very good reason. Murals can serve many purposes.

One is to bring beauty to a public place like a school, or a hospital, or a community center. And they can also bring attention to an important issue such as the environment or saving the wildlife.

But one thing that a mural does really well, is brings together a community by involving many people in the process or the design and in the enjoyment of the overall mural.

TITLE BAR TEXT: Why Choose Legacy Murals...? Real Kids Adorable Drawings ... Lovingly Transformed Into ... Professionally Painted Murals ... On Walls, Panels or Whatever.

What makes a Look-What-I-Drawed Mural different is that we only use the art of young children.

Elementary school aged children can draw wonderful pictures on paper. But it’s difficult for them to create a large painted mural.

Our murals can be created using the drawings of any size group, up to 100’s of children.

SLIDE TEXT: Keep Watching to Hear What the Children Have to Say.

TITLE BAR TEXT: Cindy with Sullivan Elementary Kids.

CINDY'S QUESTION TO THE KIDS: So what do you think guys?

MULTIPLE KIDS RESPONSES: "It's awesome! Fancy! It's Good. Lots of nice colors mixed together. It's fantastic! It's pretty. I just like it because it looks like it's all springing to life. I can tell it took a lot of work to make this really stand out."

TITLE BAR TEXT: Drawings Provided by WPGA Kids.

TITLE BAR TEXT: Comments From Sullivan Children.

CINDY'S QUESTION TO THE KIDS: So how do you think the kids are going to feel when they see their art on a public mural like this one?

MULTIPLE KIDS RESPONSES: "They will be really surprised that like it's better than it looked before. It would make a kids dream come true like they wish they were like a superstar - now they are one. They can like brag to everybody like, I'm famous. It might inspire them to become an artist so they would feel really good about that and start drawing. And they would be very, very proud of it."

CINDY'S QUESTION TO THE KIDS: How would you feel when you grew up and you saw it later?

MULTIPLE KIDS RESPONSES: "I would feel shocked. I'd feel very proud of myself. I'd keep on looking at it every day."

TITLE BAR TEXT: Cindy Lietz - Professional Artist.

CINDY'S QUESTION TO THE KIDS: Do you guys have any ideas on where would be good places to paint public murals?

MULTIPLE KIDS RESPONSES: "At our school based on our drawings. In the gym. Maybe on like the playground with pictures of kids going on the swings and stuff. At the YMCA. At the mall. A toy store. At a children's hospital. An airport. In the art museum. Well I'd like to see it in a camp. Put it near a park. On the beach and stuff, like things to inspire you to go in the water and try to find them."

SLIDE TEXT: And That Was Only A Small Sample of Everything the Kids had to Say.

TITLE BAR TEXT: To Wrap Things Up ... What If ... Your Next Mural Project ... Could Inspire ... A Child's Destiny?

Now Picasso once said that all children are artists but the problem is to remain one when he or she grows up. I believe that you are all artists. And I saw when everyone of you put your hand up when I asked, "Who loves to draw?" So I know that you know that you are artists too. And one thing I want you to remember from this experience is to keep you love of art alive in your heart, forever and ever.
